Three Colorado State University football players have been suspended for their role in the assault of four CSU freshmen over the weekend. Two of the victims are in critical condition.

CSU head football coach Jim McElwain announced that he had suspended indefinitely the three football players involved for their involvement with the assault, adding that he would not remove them from the team until the investigation was complete.

While the investigation is ongoing, other members of the CSU football team have reached out to the victims, who police say were walking home from a Friday night party when seven males in a white SUV confronted them. Five of them allegedly got out of the vehicle and beat the freshmen.

The suspended players are all juniors: linebacker Mike Orapko and defensive ends Nordly Capi and Colton Paulhus.

Orapko is the younger brother of NFL player Brian Orapko, his 87 tackles were third most for the Rams last season. Capi led the Rams in sacks on the season with 10 and Paulhus recorded only 7 tackles in 11 appearances.
