The final road game of the regular season is tonight (Friday night) for the Laramie Plainsmen. They are in Cheyenne to take on the South Bison at 6 p.m. Laramie is 1-5 on the season and seeking a second win to boost their 4A playoff hopes. The Bison are winless this year and looking to snap a 44-game losing streak. KOWB will broadcast the game live starting at 5 p.m.

KOWB’s David Settle spoke with Plainsmen head coach Jake Chick about the focus in practice coming off last Friday’s 41-15 loss at Natrona County, which included blocking and tackling, adjustments they need to make, and a scouting report on Cheyenne South.

Laramie has won four in a row over the Bison. South enters the game on a 44-game losing streak, the current state record. Their last victory was at home against the Plainsmen in 2019, 36-35.

These two teams are No. 9 and No. 10 in Class 4A in rushing offense and total offense. What separates Laramie from South is their No. 3 passing offense at 150 yards per game. South counters with the No. 1 pass defense at 66 yards per game, but not many teams throw against the Bison. LHS is No. 10 in total defense at 365 yards and 32.2 points per game. South is No. 8 in total defense at 291 yards per game but allows 64.8 points per game. The Bison are minus-16 in turnover margin.
