
Wyoming High School Girls Swimming Conference Championships 2019
Girls’ swimming and diving teams get into post-season competition with the four conference championship meets on Friday and Saturday.
Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins, and Riverton will be hosting two-day events. It’s a big tune-up that’s two weeks before the state meet in Gillette.
4A West – in Laramie
Teams = Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs
Schedule = Friday: Diving prelims at 2 p.m.; Swim prelims approx. 3:30 p.m.; Saturday: Finals at 10 a.m.
Laramie captured the conference title with 435 points. Green River 288, Rock Springs 156, Kelly Walsh 138, Evanston 83, Jackson 71, Natrona County 65 - Nine conference records were set at the meet
4A East – in Cheyenne
Teams = Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Sheridan, Thunder Basin
Schedule = Friday: Diving prelims at 2 p.m.; Swim prelims approx. 3:30 p.m.; Saturday: Finals at 10 a.m.
Cheyenne Central rolled to the team crown with 411 points. Campbell County 213, Sheridan 173, Cheyenne South 171, Thunder Basin 139, Cheyenne East 137
Mark Miller of Central = Coach of the Year
3A West – in Riverton
Teams = Kemmerer, Lander, Lyman, Powell, Riverton, Sublette County
Schedule = Friday: Diving prelims at 3 p.m.; Swim prelims at 6 p.m.; Saturday: Finals at 9:45 a.m.
Powell won the team championship with 307 points. Lander 277, Lyman 219, Sublette County 203, Riverton 139, Kemmerer 72 - Three conference records were set at the meet
Athlete of the Meet & Year = Brynlee Busskohl of Lyman
Co-Coaches of the Year = Rebecca Weston of Lyman & Amanda Aimone of Kemmerer
Assistant Coach of the Year = Heather Christensen of Powell
3A East in Rawlins
Teams = Buffalo, Cody, Douglas, Newcastle, Rawlins, Worland
Schedule = Friday: Diving prelims at 3 p.m.; Swim prelims approx. 4:30 p.m.; Saturday: Finals at 10 a.m.
Buffalo won the team title with 333 points. Cody 289, Worland 216, Douglas 159, Rawlins 133, Newcastle 100
