Frude and Ennist Feeling Good About Fall Camp for Laramie Plainsmen Football [VIDEO]

Fall camp practice started on Monday for 4A football teams in Wyoming. That includes the Laramie Plainsmen, who are in the midst of two-a-day practices next to Deti Stadium. After starting in helmets and shorts, the team builds up to the first full-padded practices on Thursday. The 2026 season will start on Friday, August 28.

LARAMIE PLAINSMEN FOOTBALL PRACTICE UPDATE 2026

Laramie went 3-7 last year and lost in the first round of the 4A football playoffs, 19-13, at Campbell County. The Camels were the 4A runner-up last fall.

It's year No. 3 for head coach Jake Chick. He's got over 80 players on the roster this fall. The senior class is at 17 players. After the fourth practice of fall camp on Day 2, KOWB's David Settle caught up with two of those seniors, Boone Frude and Weston Ennist, to get their thoughts on what the team needs to do to make this fall camp different compared to the last couple of years, how the start of practice has gone, how the seniors set the tone in practice, and what they need to accomplish during Week 1 of practice.

Laramie opens its 2026 season on the road in Casper against the Natrona County Mustangs on August 28. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. The first home game is on September 4 against Rock Springs. That game will also start at 6 p.m. at Deti Stadium.

KOWB (AM 1290) will air every Laramie High School football game during the 2026 season.
