It’s no secret that the Wyoming Cowboys have gotten off to a tough 0-3 start to the 2012 season. Their last two losses have been by a combined five points. The bad news is the Pokes don’t have a win yet. The good news is they still have the upcoming Mountain West Conference season ahead.

After Saturday’s game at Idaho, the Cowboys have a bye in their schedule next week. That gives UW two weeks to get ready for the start of league play at Nevada on October 6th. In fact, the rest of the season has nothing but games against teams from the MW after the meeting with the Vandals.

Just a quick reminder that Boise State was the pre-season choice by the media in a poll released at MW Media Days in Las Vegas in July. The Broncos have a 2-1 record, but have failed to score an offensive touchdown in two of those three games. They were followed by Fresno State and Nevada. Both of which have been explosive so far this season. The Bulldogs scored 69 points last week, while the Wolfpack put 45 on the board. Then, there’s San Diego State and Air Force who have also shown the ability to score points.

Just for your information, the Cowboys were selected to finish fourth in the pre-season poll.
