In case you missed it by not being alive for a substantial part of yesterday morning, two things happened (in order): Peyton Manning told his agent that he wanted to begin contract negotiations with the Broncos and the world stopped turning. While I find this news to be simply terrific, there's one aspect that is setting off a lot of tempers among Broncos fans- early reports say that once the Broncos officially sign Peyton, they will trade Tim Tebow.

While some in Broncos country are outraged by this possible move, some teams in the NFL are drooling over the possibility of getting Tim Tebow- I mean, they must be... right? Well- assuming there are teams out there drooling over the idea that they could get the Son of God Tim Tebow, here are my thoughts on who those drooling teams could, or at least should be.

  1. The Jacksonville Jaguars- At this point in the state of the Jaguars franchise, I think wins might be secondary behind their need to fill the seats. Admittedly, whenever teams win games, fans show up to watch those teams, but from a marketing perspective, Tebow has a huge fan base in Florida, and for a Florida team to sign him, they would guarantee fan support (if only for about 3 weeks, until the fans realize that, for a quarterback, he is not very good at throwing things). Speaking of Florida...
  2. The Miami Dolphins- A few thoughts on this one... The first is, try to imagine how awesome it would be if Tim Tebow were to utter the phrase, "I'm going to take my talents to South Beach." The second, is that time and time again, Tebow has proven that he looks terrific in various shades of orange. Additionally, as with the same argument for the Jaguars, you know Tebow will put fans in the seats. This is a team that in the last decade has started QB gems such as: Tyler Thigpen, Cleo Lemon, Ray Lucas, Sage Rosenfels and John Beck. It would almost be expected for the Dolphins to take this lateral step (arguably a backwards step) in trading for Tim Tebow.
  3. The Indianapolis Colts- Does this not seem like an awesome idea to anyone else? Just look at this picture, and imagine their uniforms switched... awesome. I realize that Tebow is going to be traded, not released, which makes this unlikely, because Indianapolis has famously released all of their good players over the last few weeks, meaning there would be no one of competitive salary to trade for Tebow, but the idea is too amazing for me to not marvel at it. #TebowToTheColts. Make it happen.
  4. The Dallas Cowboys- I firmly believe that Tony Romo will be gone if he doesn't win a Superbowl, or at least a playoff game in the next 2 seasons, so there will very likely be a need for a new starter in Dallas soon. Should Romo suddenly find postseason success however, the Cowboys would always take a steady pair of hands to hold for their kicker. Also- who out there doesn't want to see Tebow beat Orton again in a head-to-head matchup for a starting job? If you raised your hand and softly said, "I do," upon reading that question, thank you for reading this Mrs. Orton, your son is a fine quarterback, but I don't think anyone likes him.
  5. The Philadelphia Eagles- Similar to the prospects in Dallas, where he would assuredly be a back-up, I think Tebow should go to Philly where he would be a better back up than Vince Young. Just by having Vick followed by Young on the depth chart, we know the Eagles are ok with a scrambling QB, and based on the track record of Michael Vick throughout his career, a respectable backup is essential. (That was not intended to be a snide comment about Vick's tendency to get suspended, but now that I bring it up...)

Obviously, this is just speculation, but it is a topic that will be discussed and discussed again for the next few days or weeks, please Tebow, let it not be months, and please readers, comment below, to let us know where you want to see Tebow end up (even if you want him to end up in Denver).
