The Wyoming House has given preliminary approval to a bill that would allow drivers to exceed the posted speed limit by up to 10 miles per hour when passing another vehicle. The House on Monday endorsed a bill sponsored by Rep. Del McOmie, a Lander Republican.

The Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) has appointed a new Executive Director. Governor Matt Mead recognized Jeff Schulz as the Executive Director of the Commission.

The Roman Catholic church has been taking heat for years over sexual abuse cases involving church officials. Wyoming's former Roman Catholic bishop now faces yet another sexual abuse charge. Joseph Hart allegedly abused a Missouri man when he was a child growing up in Kansas City.

When it comes to law the University of Wyoming has had a long history of producing some of the best lawyers, law makers and political leaders.  According to PreLaw Magazine UW currently ranks 15th in the nation for providing the best value. Out of 200 law schools nationwide that's a pretty good ranking!

It's Law Week at the University of Wyoming and Egil "Bud" Krough will be one of the weeks featured speakers. Krough was the Nixon administration lawyer who served prison time for ordering the break-in of Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist. Krough will talk at 5:30pm in room 178  this Tuesday October 25th.

Wyoming legislators are in Laramie today to discuss important issues. They will be discussing proposed changes to the state's open records laws as well as discuss whether or not to pass a law making it a crime for parents or guardians not to report a missing child. The proposed law has been dubbed as "Caylee's Law" following the Casey Anthony trial.

Starting at 6:30pm the Laramie City Council will vote on 17 amendments to the proposed overhaul of the city's leash law and other animal laws. Amendments include both minor and major changes and will be voted on individually.
