The Laramie Rangers split their road doubleheader in Casper Tuesday with the Oilers. They lost game one 6-5, but won the nightcap 5-3.

Laramie (15-16) blew a 5-0 lead in the opener. Casper rallied with three runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh inning. An error led to one run, and then a pair of sacrifice flies produced the tying and winning runs. Albert Steiner had two hits and walked twice to lead the Rangers’ offense. Eli Bryant suffered the loss on the mound.

Game two saw Laramie build a 4-1 lead and hold on for victory. Reid Baty tossed 6-and-1/3 innings for the win. Baty surrendered three runs, only two earned, on ten hits. He struck out five and walked three. Baty, David Coulthard and Cameron Campbell had RBI-singles to lead the Rangers offense. Laramie also capitalized on nine walks.

The Rangers return to action in the Cheyenne Firecracker Thursday through Sunday. The first three days are pool play followed by a match-up game on Sunday. Laramie opens against Pro Swing from Windsor, CO at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from Pioneer Park.

All five games will be broadcast live on KOWB by David Settle. Coverage Thursday begins at 2:15 p.m.
