Laramie Rangers Baseball At Home For Dooley Oil Classic

The 17th edition of the Dooley Oil Classic baseball tournament, hosted by the Laramie Rangers, is Friday through Sunday at Cowboy Field. Laramie’s JV team is also in this year’s field. The Rangers welcome three teams from Colorado for round-robin action over the weekend. Besides the Rangers varsity and JV, the rest of the tournament field is the Fort Morgan Wranglers, Buckley Bombers, and Wellington Birds.

THE LARAMIE RANGERS ARE BACK AT COWBOY FIELD THIS WEEKEND

Laramie manager Aaron Lozano said they’re excited to be at home for the first time in nearly a month. He believes they’ll get challenged by the Wranglers.

“The Fort Morgan team is a really good team. They have a D-1 commit playing shortstop, and I’m excited to watch him play out on Cowboy (Field). That team is put together with some regional, smaller towns, coming together. There’s some Yuma (CO) kids on that team… Coach Langford is a guy we send somebody to (to play in one of their tournaments), and he tries to get somebody (one team) our way. It’s (developed into) kind of a fun little rivalry, so it will be fun to have those guys out (here).”

The Rangers are 12-17 in the 2026 season. They are coming off a conference doubleheader sweep on the road against Wheatland on Tuesday, June 9. They beat the Lobos 5-3 in game one and 5-2 in the nightcap.
