After getting postponed due to rain from Tuesday, American Legion baseball returns to the Gem City Wednesday night, as the Laramie Rangers take on Cheyenne Post 6 at Cowboy Field.  Tonight's game will start at 5:30 pm and will not be on the radio.

The Rangers are off to a 3-2 start this season.  They've already lost one conference game to Cheyenne, which was last Tuesday in the Capital City, by a score of 13-3.  That game was shortened to 7 innings due to the 10-run rule.

Tonight's game is a single 9-inning conference game, weather permitting.

Laramie has five returning players from the 2010 squad that finished with a 24-18 overall record and were fourth at the "AA" State Tournament last year.  It was also the second straight season the Rangers ended up the second best 'A' team in the state.

Second-team All-State performer Tyler Mitchell will lead the charge, along with veterans Nolan Carter, Barry Thomas, Kevin Dooley and Taylor Boggess.

New Manager Zac Baker has increased the load this season, as Laramie is slated to play around 60 games.  Tonight is the first of 17 home dates for the Rangers varsity squad.
