Caleb Eaton had four hits and drove in three runs to lead the Laramie Rangers to a 7-3 victory over the Cheyenne Hawks Wednesday night in Cheyenne.

The win snapped a four-game skid for the Rangers, who had lost their previous meeting versus the Hawks, 9-8 in eight innings, on May 9 in Laramie.

Three of Eaton’s hits were for extra bases. He tripled and scored in the second inning. Eaton followed with a two-run double in the third. After a single in the fifth, he capped his night with an RBI-double in the seventh.

Ramon Gomez tossed five innings for the win on the mound. He allowed only two runs, one earned, on three hits. Gomez had six strikeouts and no walks. Reston Morehouse threw the last two innings and earned the save.

Will Yates two-run double in the second gave Laramie its first lead. The Rangers added three runs in the third. Albert Steiner hit an RBI single followed by Eaton’s double. Steiner had another RBI-single in the sixth that made it 6-2. Eaton’s hit in the seventh provided the final margin.

Steiner, Yates and Reid Baty all had two hits apiece, as part of 13 in the game for Laramie.

The Rangers return home for their next game on Tuesday, May 29. It is a single seven-inning game against the Cheyenne Hawks. First pitch from Cowboy Field is at 5:30 p.m. KOWB (AM 1290) will broadcast that game. David Settle will call the action. Coverage will start at 5:15 p.m.
