In a rare bipartisan move the U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly for the creation of a national women’s history museum, to be one of the many government museums in D.C.

The vote came on the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage.

224 Democrats and 150 Republicans approved it. 37 representatives voting against. All Republicans plus Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.).

Wyoming's own Rep. Liz Cheney, was the only woman to vote against the measure. Some might think that odd, considering Wyoming was the tip of the spear for women's rights, including being the first state to grant women the right to vote and being the first state to have a woman governor.

So was she correct to vote against it?

Ask yourself, about the proper role of government. Take a look at our national debt, now over $22 trillion and climbing fast then ask yourself where the money for such a project is going to come from.

Cheyenne Wyoming has a museum dedicated to women, and it is privately owned and funded. If you listen to me enough in the morning you'll know that I believe all museums should be private. Taxpayer money should only be taken for a few very important projects. Not for every feel good whim or desire we wish for.
