F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne will now be home to the Air Force Global Strike Command. The squadron is in charge of maintaining on-shore nuclear missiles and is the only unit in the United States of its kind.

The Global Strike Command Missile Engineer Squadron will be moving from Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a 24 member unit that was previously under Air Force Space Command until the move.

The move provides closer distances to missiles the squadron service in North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. The unit is in charge of everything from moving missiles in and out of silos to servicing networks that are used in missile control.
