Summers in Laramie are hard to beat, and in preparation for the summer months the City of Laramie Mosquito Control will be conducting an aerial application of (Bti) on Wednesday June 2nd to help control mosquitoes.

The controlled application of Bacillus Thuringensis Israelensis (Bti) is targeted to control nuisance larva mosquitoes that swarm near irrigated areas and flood waters  in the southwest and northwest areas of Laramie.

The areas to be treated are acreages along the Big Laramie River near Cottonwood estates and the city limits to hart road which is approximately 8 miles southwest of Laramie. It will also include spraying acreages north of Curtis Street between Welsh Lane and North 3rd Street approximately two miles north of the city.

The application will begin at daylight and will finish by 12pm. If the spraying is delayed due to weather it will be rescheduled for the morning of Thursday June 3rd for the same time.

The (Bti) spray is environmentally friendly and does not harm aquatic life, mammels or other insects. No spray applications will be conducted within the city limits.
