
Wyoming High School Cross Country Week 7: Oct. 6-10, 2020
Only two weeks remain until the state cross country championship meets will be taking place around Wyoming.
This is the final week of the regular season or the last chance for teams and runners to fine-tune before next weekend’s conference meets. All the meets will be happening on Friday.
This is the schedule of who’s going where:
Friday, Oct. 9:
Glenrock Cross Country Invitational at Glenrock G.C. – Big Horn, Douglas, Glenrock, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Moorcroft, Tongue River, Torrington, Wheatland, Wright
Freshman Lily Nichols of Wheatland and junior John Halvorsen from Glenrock (home course) win the 5K races. Douglas swept the team crowns.
Leroy Sprague Cross Country Invite at Prairie View G.C. in Cheyenne – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Laramie, Rock River
Senior Libby Berryhill from Laramie and Brayden Kivisto of Cheyenne Central won the individual races.
Girls Team Scores: Laramie 32, Central 38, East 53, South NTS
Boys Team Scores: Central 18, Laramie 66, East, 71, South 89
Powell Invitational at Powell G.C. – Buffalo, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Rocky Mountain, Thermopolis, Wind River, Worland
Riley Smith of Cody and Kaleb Simonson from Lander win the races. Cody and Lander win the girls' and boys' team crowns.
Rock Springs Invitational at White Mountain G.C. – Evanston, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lyman, Mountain View, Natrona County, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Saratoga/Encampment
Sydney Thorvaldson of Rawlins and Ben Williams from Jackson won the individual races. Jackson swept the team crowns.
Wayne Chaney Memorial Cross Country Invitational at the Cam-Plex Park in Gillette – Campbell County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin
Reilly Wilson of Campbell County won the girls' race in a time of 21:40.03. Thunder Basin girls' won the team title with 26 points.
Girls Team Scores: Thunder Basin 26, Sheridan 48, Campbell County 51
Sam Kjerstad from Campbell County took the boys' title with a winning time of 18:04.18. Thunder Basin won the boys' team crown with 32 points.
Boys Team Scores: Thunder Basin 32, Campbell County 38, Sheridan 58
