Reed Ritterbusch scored 28 points, and a strong second half by the 4th-ranked Sheridan Broncs got them past the upset-minded Laramie Plainsmen last Saturday at the LHS gym. The Broncs won 67-57.

Laramie (3-17, 0-7) held a four-point lead at halftime, but Sheridan went on a 14-2 run at the start of the second half that propelled them to the victory.

Sheridan (15-4, 5-2) trailed the Plainsmen 37-26 in the second quarter, but an 8-1 spurt at the end of the half pulled the Broncs within 38-34 at the break.

Laramie trimmed the deficit to 55-49 early in the fourth quarter, but that's as close as they would get.

The Broncs utilized a 25-10 edge in rebounding in the second half, which included eight offensive rebounds, to overtake the Plainsmen. They also held LHS to 7-30 (23%) from the field in the final two quarters.

In defeat, Laramie was led by Drew Burman with 16 points and six rebounds. Tommy Nachtigal added 10 points. The Plainsmen shot 21-57 (37%) on field goals and were just 2-15 (13%) from 3-point range.

Sheridan shot 24-52 (46%) from the floor, despite going 0-12 from deep. They out-rebounded LHS 36-32.

The Plainsmen are back in action February 21 against the Cheyenne South Bison. That will be a girls'-boys' doubleheader at home. The girls' varsity game will start at 5:45 p.m. The boys' game is at 7:30 p.m.
