The 2017 high school football schedules have been revealed, and the Laramie Plainsmen will open and close next season at home.

The Plainsmen will have five games at home and four on the road next year. Their home opponents will include Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Cheyenne East, two-time defending 4A champion Sheridan and 4A’s newest member Thunder Basin. Laramie will be visiting Rock Springs, Gillette, Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne South.

Head coach Chuck Syverson was pretty upbeat about the new slate.

"I really like our schedule. It is nice to open up at home and having a home game to close the year could be very important in achieving our goal of hosting a home playoff game."

The 2017 season will debut at Deti Stadium Aug. 25, 2017 against the Kelly Walsh Trojans. The Thunder Basin Thunderbolts first visit to the Gem City will be Oct. 20, 2017 to conclude the regular season.
