Four teams enter the rankings in the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll.

The No. 1 ranked teams are the same five as last week. Cheyenne East, Cody, Lovell, Pine Bluffs, and Little Snake River kept the top spot.

One change occurred in four of the five classifications. Two teams, Cheyenne Central and Kaycee, make their debut in the poll.

Class 4A had a shake-up after the top two. Cheyenne East earned 16 of the 20 first-place votes. The Thunderbirds hold the No. 1 ranking for a fourth straight week. Sheridan received the other four first-place votes and stayed in second. Natrona County moved up to third. Cheyenne Central’s upset of Thunder Basin last week impressed enough voters that the Indians vaulted into the top five at No. 4. The loss dropped the Bolts two spots to fifth. Despite a victory, Campbell County fell out of the rankings.

The Cody Broncs continued at the top of Class 3A. Cody got all but one first-place vote again. The story here remained that the Broncs were left off one ballot. Star Valley stayed second and garnered the other vote for No. 1. The bottom of the 3A poll changed around. Even after they lost to top-ranked Cody, the Buffalo Bison climbed one spot to third. That meant the Jackson Broncs fell to fourth. Worland stayed fifth, but the Warriors share the spot with Douglas. The Bearcats got back in the rankings for the first time in three weeks.

Class 2A was led by Lovell for the third straight poll. The Bulldogs received 19 of the 22 first-place votes. The first change in the rankings came at No. 2, where the Tongue River Eagles climbed one spot for the second straight week. Lyman fell to third. Mountain View remained fourth. Big Horn returned to the poll for the first time in a few weeks. The Rams checked in at five. Cokeville dropped out of the top five.

Little Snake River got all 14 first-place votes and stayed atop the Class 1A-6 Man ranking. Dubois’ victory at Encampment last week pushed the Rams up one to second. Burlington also climbed one spot to third. The Tigers fell to fourth. For the second straight set of rankings, there was a new team at No. 5. The Kaycee Buckaroos made their debut in the poll in that position.

The one classification that didn’t change was 1A-9 Man. The Pine Bluffs garnered all but one first-place vote. The Hornets are followed by Shoshoni, Wind River, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, and Big Piney for a second straight week.

Here is a look at the voting breakdown:

WyoPreps gives every head coach in each classification and media from around the state a chance to vote in the weekly rankings.
