Both Laramie High School soccer teams advanced to the semifinals at the state soccer tournament in Jackson Thursday.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen rallied for a 3-1 win over Jackson. They trailed 1-0 at the half. Senior Lindsey Meyer tied it in the 55th minute and scored the go-ahead goal in the 71st minute. Samantha Turpin added a late penalty kick goal for the final margin.

Laramie will face Thunder Basin in the 4A semis Friday at 2 p.m. on Field 4.

Of note, day one of 4A girls soccer was highlighted by the 4A East sweeping the 4A West for the ninth consecutive year.

The Laramie Plainsmen got two first-half goals and held off Rock Springs for a 2-0 victory. Senior Kyle Reynolds and junior Baxter Tuggle scored for Laramie.

LHS will face Natrona County in the semifinals Friday at 4 p.m. The Mustangs surprised top-ranked Thunder Basin in the first round, 4-1. The Plainsmen lost to N-C 3-2 in Casper March 27.
