It was a road conference doubleheader that turned into a pair of home games. Laramie took full advantage and swept the Rawlins Generals Thursday.

As the visiting team at Cowboy Field, the Rangers won game one by a final score of 25-2. It was stopped in the fifth inning due to the ten-run mercy rule. In game two, Laramie fought back and earned a 9-3 victory.

In the opener, Laramie took an early 3-0 lead before they exploded. The Rangers scored 11 runs in both the third and fifth innings. That led to the 25-2 final score.

Manager Rich Wilson said, "We want to play that way every time and go after 'em... That's the kind of attitude you want to have, whoever you're playing."

Laramie had 19 hits and took advantage of 11 errors by the Generals. Kacey Bernaski and Joseph Legerski had three hits apiece. Bernaski and Nate Burman both had three RBI. Marshall Stuart tossed three innings and was the winning pitcher.

In game two, Rawlins led 3-2 going into the sixth inning. Then, the Rangers scored seven runs in the final two frames.

Tyler Gardea led the Laramie offense with four hits and two RBI. Harrison Yates went the distance for the victory on the mound. Yates threw only 72 pitches and surrendered three unearned runs.

Wilson added what Yates did was, "Threw strikes and made 'em swing the bat. We didn't have a lot of walks, and that's just key, whoever you're playing. Make them put the ball in play, and we made plays behind him; not so many errors, so that's a good thing."

Laramie is now 16-23 on the season and improved to 6-2 in conference action.

They return to the diamond on Tuesday, July 8 with a conference doubleheader at Torrington.
