Denver just might host World Cup soccer matches according to a sources in the Denver media.

That's exciting news, but the rough part is, if it happens... you have to wait eight years.

Earlier this week FIFA voted that the 2026 World Cup will be hosted by three North American countries, the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The combined bid edged out Morocco as the host.

While games will be split between the three countries, there are currently a list of about twenty cities in the running to host games, and Denver is one of them.

Altitude TV and radio sports host Vic Lombardi has confirmed via Twitter that he's heard from multiple sources, that Denver will be one of the cities involved.

Colorado Governor candidate Mike Johnston also confirmed the news.

If these sources are incorrect, the next closest contending cities to Wyoming would be Kansas City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or Dallas.
