The Wyoming Highway Patrol and Walmart have teamed up to help out parents with children that are in car seats with a free event.

Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot off East Grand Avenue in Laramie, troopers from WHP will be assisting anyone who wishes to stop by with a Car Seat Safety Workshop. This includes installation, requirements, checking for defects, checking recall lists and more.

WHP Trooper Aren Peter was a guest with host David Settle during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show Friday. Trooper Peter discussed some of the issues that arise with car seat safety, whether it’s how it was installed to the wrong size and more. There are even some ways they can help reduce costs if there’s a need for replacement, and how Walmart has also discounted some items.

Trooper Peter also explained how they come to know all this information and emphasized it is free, so stop by even if it’s just for “peace of mind.”
