Laramie Little League All-Stars Win 2026 State Championship
For the first time in a decade, the Laramie Little League Majors All-Stars are state champions. Laramie won the title last Sunday at the state tournament in Torrington. They finished 3-0 in the tournament. The Laramie All-Stars will represent Wyoming at the Mountain Regional in San Bernardino, California, starting August 8.
LARAMIE YOUTH BASEBALL ALL-STARS CAPTURE A STATE TITLE
Laramie defeated Lovell, Douglas, and Cody en route to their first state title since 2016. The All-Stars topped Lovell 8-4 last Thursday. Trailing 4-3, Laramie scored five times in their last two at-bats to pull out the victory. That included a four-run fifth inning. Ben Harris had the go-ahead two-run double. Kaysen Scozzafava added 2 hits and 1 RBI for Laramie.
In the semifinals last Friday, Laramie edged Douglas, 6-5. The All-Stars scored five runs in the first inning to set the tone. They led 6-3 before Douglas scored twice in the sixth inning, but Laramie held on for the victory. Scozzafava got the last out on a pop-up to the shortstop. That ended a two-on, two-out threat by Douglas. Jackson Rumsey led the Laramie offense with 2 hits, including a triple, and 3 RBIs. That win put Laramie into the championship game and gave them a day off on Saturday.
In the title game last Sunday, Laramie slipped past Cody, 4-3. The All-Stars took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Max Wine. They added two more runs in the third inning on a ground out and a bases-loaded walk. Cody tied the game in the fourth inning. That set the stage for Ryder Vasquez of Laramie. He was the hero with an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth, which scored Rumsey from first base. It made the score 4-3. Cody had one last chance, but Laramie’s Silas Moore retired the side in order on a groundout, fly-out, and pop-up, and the All-Stars got to celebrate winning the state championship for the first time in 10 years.
Next up is a trip to California, but to a new regional tournament
Laramie will play in the Little League Baseball Mountain Region Tournament from August 8 through August 14 in San Bernardino. The Mountain Region was formed back in 2022 by Little League Baseball. Colorado, Montana, Nevada, and Utah are also part of the region. Wyoming (Laramie All-Stars) will have its first game on August 8 versus Nevada (Paseo Verde LL from Henderson), which is essentially southeast Las Vegas. The game will start at 4 p.m., Mountain Time. You can watch the game on ESPN+.
