The new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Poll has a change at the top of Class 4A for the second consecutive week.

The new rankings released on Wednesday also see a tie for first in Class 1A-6 Man. There is only one new team in this week’s poll.

Class 4A’s top four shifts around in the new rankings. Rock Springs returns to No. 1 after Sheridan lost last Friday night to Cheyenne East. The Tigers received 13 of the 16 first-place votes. The Broncs fall from the top position to second. The Thunderbirds are only three points back of Sheridan in the voting. East climbs past Thunder Basin, which falls to fourth. The only team that remains in the same spot is Natrona County in fifth.

In Class 1A-6 Man, there’s a tie for first between Meeteetse and Little Snake River. Both teams got seven first-place and seven second-place votes. The Longhorns have been No. 1 all season, while the Rattlers reach the top spot for the first time this year. After a bye week, Encampment and Farson-Eden remain third and fourth, respectively. The Tigers earned all by two of the votes for third. The undefeated Hulett Red Devils make their first appearance in the rankings at No. 5.

There was only one change in Class 3A. The Cody Broncs are still in first and a near-unanimous pick with 14 of the 15 first-place votes. Jackson moves back to No. 2. Powell drops to third, while Star Valley and Douglas stay fourth and fifth. The undefeated Evanston Red Devils received votes but still can’t make the top five.

In 2A, it’s only a small change. There is no tie for fifth in the rankings. Lyman remains at the top and earned 11 of the 17 first-place votes.  Wheatland, Torrington, and Lovell hold second, third, and fourth. The Cokeville Panthers are alone in fifth this week, while Upton-Sundance falls out.

The one class with no changes is Class 1A-9 Man. The gap between top-rated Shoshoni and No. 2 Pine Bluffs narrowed. The Wranglers received ten of the 17 first-place votes. The Hornets got six votes for first and are only 18 points back in the poll. Lusk remains third. Wind River stays in fourth despite their first loss of the season. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies are fifth.
