Two Classes Change in the New WyoPreps Football Rankings
For the second straight week, there weren’t too many differences in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll.
There are two new teams in the rankings, but only two classifications changed. All five top-ranked teams also stayed put.
In Class 1A-9 Man, the Southeast Cyclones entered the poll at No. 5. It’s the first time they’ve been ranked this year. Pine Bluffs kept the top spot for the sixth straight week. The Hornets received 15 of the 17 first-place votes. Wind River moved up to second and earned the other two first-place votes. Shoshoni fell to third, while Big Piney, despite a loss, climbed to fourth.
The other class that had a different team was Class 3A. The Powell Panthers moved into the fifth position. It’s been six weeks since Powell was ranked. The top four didn’t change. Cody was No. 1 with all but one first-place vote. Star Valley, Douglas, and Buffalo remained second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The other three classes were the same as last week.
Class 4A had Sheridan at the top with 18 of the 19 first-place votes. The Broncs are followed by East, Natrona, Central, and Thunder Basin.
Lovell was still No. 1 in 2A. The Bulldogs pulled down 16 of the 18 first-place votes. Tongue River garnered the other first-place votes and stayed at No. 2. Lyman, Big Horn, and Cokeville rounded out the top five.
Finally, in Class 1A-6 Man, Little Snake River’s reign continued. The Rattlers got all 14 first-place votes. Dubois was second. Burlington stayed third. Encampment was fourth, and Kaycee just held onto fifth.
