Wyoming is full of beautiful land. The state is home to many parks that bring people from all over the globe to see our wonders from Yellowstone, Gand Teton, to Devils Tower. The website Geotab found the nation's quietest and most scenic roads in each state. For Wyoming, it is US 212. Plus it ranked this highway in the Cowboy State the 8th best in the nation.

Much like the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, these roads are the least traveled thus the quietest. The stretch of road is more commonly known as Beartooth Highway. The route is closed during winters and traverses through the mountains of Montana and Wyoming. The U.S. Department of Transportation has designated it as a National Scenic Byways All-American Road.

The Beartooth Highway is the highest road in the state of Wyoming and the Northern Rockies at nearly 11,000 feet above sea level. In Wyoming, the highway starts near the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone and ends at Red Lodge, Montana. The meandering road will give you spectacular views of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, Shoshone National Forests, and parts of Yellowstone National Park. The Beartooth Highway website describes what to expect on the drive:

Visitors have the rare opportunity to experience and explore pristine, untouched alpine and montane landscapes, lush forests, and alpine tundra in the space of a few miles. It is one of the highest and most rugged areas in the lower 48 states, with 20 peaks reaching over 12,000 feet in elevation.
