Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: July 19-25, 2021

It’s the final week of the 2021 regular season for Class ‘AA’ teams with several conference games remaining to sort out seeding at the state tournament.

This is the 16th week of the season. There are a few non-conference games remaining on a couple of teams’ schedules.

MONDAY, JULY 19:

Final Score: Evanston 4 Jackson 2 (conference game) - A 3-run 7th inning helps the Outlaws rally for a conference win. Smith had the go-ahead RBI-single and got the win on the mound.

Final Score: Jackson 3 Evanston 2 (conference game) - Giants win it as Bleggi singles and eventually scores on a passed ball. Ashurts got the win on the mound. L. Gralund had a hit and 1 RBI.

TUESDAY, JULY 20:

Final Score: Cheyenne 5 Gillette 1 (conference game) - After getting out to a 3-0 lead, a couple of insurance runs in the 5th help the Sixers to the win. Anderson led the way with a double & 2 RBI's. Costopoulos added 2 hits. Riders were held to 3 hits and had 5 errors.

Final Score: Cheyenne 10 Gillette 2 (conference game) - 5 runs in the 1st two innings leads to the sweep for the Sixers. Costopoulos had 3 hits, including a home run & drove in 4. Riders held to 5 hits.

Final Score: Sheridan 4 Laramie 0 (conference game) - Stone tosses a 2-hit shutout on 78 pitches. Troopers took advantage of 3 Laramie errors.

Final Score: Sheridan 10 Laramie 7 [9 inns.] (conference game) - Troopers score 4 in the 7th to tie it and win it in the 9th on Kilpatrick's walk-off 3-run home run. Dodd had 2 home runs in the loss for the Rangers.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 21:

Final Score: Gillette 4 Laramie 0 (conference game) - Richardson and Martin combine on a no-hitter. Richardson had 15 strikeouts.

Final Score: Gillette 11 Laramie 7 (conference game) - Riders jump out 9-0 and then hold off a comeback attempt. Fink had 3 hits, while Race, Newlin, and Sturdevant had 2 RBI's each.

Final Score: Sheridan 5 Billings (MT) Scarlets 0 - Nelson & Hall combine on a 1-hit shutout. Hall had 2 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Sheridan 17 Billings (MT) Scarlets 7 - Down 6-2, the Troopers scored the next 12 runs. Kilpatrick had 4 hits (2-2B) & 4 RBI's. Stowe added 2 triples among 3 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Casper 8 Evanston 7 (conference game) - Oilers scored 8 runs over the last 3 innings to rally from a 5-0 deficit. Pickett had the game-winning 2-run single in the 7th. Taggart added 2 hits & 3 RBI's for Casper.

Final Score: Casper 19 Evanston 6 (conference game) - Oilers jump out 11-1 and finish it with 8 in the 4th. Barr had 3 hits (2-2B) & 4 RBI's. Wilcox adds 2 hits & 4 RBI's. Douglass had 3 hits & 3 RBI's.

Final Score: Jackson 10 Rock Springs 0 (conference game) - Huggins throws a 2-hit shutout with 4 K's and 4 BB's. Giants sealed it with 7 runs in the 7th.

Final Score: Jackson 7 Rock Springs 6 [8 inns.] (conference game) - Giants rally from a 4-1 deficit and get the sweep. Jackson scored 2 in the 7th for a 6-5 lead, but the Stallions tied it on a bases-loaded walk. Giants regained the lead on a bases-loaded walk in the 8th. Ashurts had 3 hits (2-2B) & 2 RBI's for Jackson.

Final Score: Cheyenne 11 Greeley GOJO’s 6 - Sixers seal the win with 7 runs in the 6th. Hastings had 1 hit & drove in 3 runs. Lobmeyer played all 9 positions in the field for Cheyenne on Senior Night.

THURSDAY, JULY 22:

Final Score: Casper 14 Evanston 8 (conference game) - A 6-run 7th helps the Oilers rally for the win. Taggart had 3 hits & 3 RBI's for Casper.

Final Score: Casper 16 Evanston 6 (conference game) – Oilers score the last 10 runs of the game after it was tied at 6-6 in the third. Nipper had 4 hits (3-2B) & 3 RBI's, while Wilcox added 4 hits & drove in 2. Douglass homered for Casper.

Final Score: Rock Springs 5 Jackson 1 - A 5-run 5th helps the Stallions get a win on Sr. Day. Pecolar had 2 hits & drove in 1, while D. Gunyan added a 2-run double.

FRIDAY, JULY 23:

Final Score: Sheridan 3 Billings (MT) Scarlets 2 - A 2-run 5th inning helps Troopers to the victory. Kilpatrick had 2 hits & drove in a run.

Final Score: Billings (MT) Scarlets 4 Sheridan 1 - Troopers had 6 hits but fall short. Greer and Stowe with 2 hits each.
