Unlike the boys, the coaches/media rankings for girls basketball has been mostly calm for the past few weeks.

Campbell County remains on top of the 4A rankings, while their cross-town rivals Thunder Basin is back up to #2. 3 weeks ago, the 2 teams met at CCHS, and it wasn't even close after the first quarter. Now the Lady Bolts have home court this week, as the teams are battling for seeding in the upcoming regional tournament. Regardless, the Lady Camels and Lady Bolts will have the top 2 seeds. Elsewhere, #3 Kelly Walsh has already secured the west #1 seed for next weekend. #4 Cheyenne East will tune-up for the post-season this weekend, while #5 Evanston has a little more work to do, after losing twice last week.

This is the last week of the regular season in 3A, and it's a big one. There's no change in the rankings from last week, and the top 4 all battle each other this week. Douglas is still the unanimous #1, and Lyman is the unanimous #2. The Lady Eagles visit #3 Mountain View on Thursday, in a battle of the top 2 southwest teams. Meanwhile the Lady Bearcats visit #4 Buffalo on Saturday. The state's lone undefeated team must mind their history, because it was this time last year, that the Lady Bearcats visited Buffalo, and the Lady Bison gave Douglas their first loss of the season. Earlier this week, #5 Powell lost home vs. unranked Worland, so who knows if the Lady Panthers will be ranked next week?

For 2A and 1A teams, these are the final rankings of the season.

Both regional tournaments in 2A should be interesting. #1 Lusk, #3 Sundance and #5 Pine Bluffs will all compete in Torrington. Sundance has yet to face the other 2 this season, and will probably have to go through both, in order to claim the #1 East seed for the state tournament. As for the West, #2 Greybull, #4 Rocky Mountain and unranked Lovell and unranked Wyoming Indian will meet at the West Regional tournament.

Most of the attention in 1A will be on the West Regional Tournament, but the East could pull off a surprise or 2. Little Snake River heads into the post-season as the new #1, after their big win last week vs. #2 Encampment. #3 Cokeville and #4 St. Stephens will be in Lander as well, plus unranked Burlington, who announced their presence with a win vs. SS last weekend. At least one of those 5 teams that were mentioned, won't make it to Casper. Rock River claims the #5 ranking, heading into the post-season. Their main challenger at the East Regional Tournament should be unranked Arvada-Clearmont.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
