While the coaches/media rankings tend to be a guide for games each week, some teams need to start paying attention to post-season seeding instead.

There's no doubt for now which team is #1 in 4A. Sheridan is now the unanimous top team, after their 1-sided win at home vs. #2 Cheyenne East last week. The rankings are unchanged this week. Kelly Walsh holds at #3, followed by Cheyenne Central and Thunder Basin. TB has the tough road schedule this weekend, with back-to-back road games against Central and East, however the Bolts beat the Thunderbirds earlier this season.

The pot has been stirred a little bit in 3A this week and there's potential for it to happen again. Newcastle is back in the top 5 after beating 2 ranked opponents in as many weeks. The #4 Dogies will head to Nebraska for a game this weekend. The game is on Saturday, when #1 Buffalo visits #3 Rawlins. Another game of note is #5 Douglas at unranked Torrington. Elsewhere, Lander continues their business in the west as the #2 team.

The top 4 in 2A are pretty solid...it's the #5 team that keeps going back and forth. Glenrock reclaims the final position from Rocky Mountain. The Herders will have their hands full this weekend though, as they visit #1 Pine Bluffs on Saturday. As for the rest of the rankings...Wyoming Indian holds at #2, with Big Horn and Wright in the 2 spots behind them.

There's no change in 1A rankings, but this is the week to watch out for, because 4 of the top 5 play each other twice. It's rematch time, as #2 Encampment and #5 Saratoga visit #1 Farson-Eden and #4 Cokeville. Let's just hope the weather doesn't interfere with things, like it did a few weeks ago, when the teams were first scheduled to play each other. As for #3 Upton...all they can do is follow their schedule in the east.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
