Teams are in the final stretch of their regular season schedules, and a few still have 1-2 teams ranked by the coaches/media, left to play.

Things are mostly calm in 4A except for the #5 spot. Star Valley lost once last week and Thunder Basin lost twice, so the voters went with the Braves this week. As for the rest of the rankings...Sheridan and Cheyenne East are the unanimous #1 and #2 teams. Kelly Walsh and Cheyenne Central hold steady at #3 and #4. All teams will be making their second run through their quadrants this week and next.

There was some movement in the new 3A rankings, except on top. Defending champ Buffalo is now the unanimous #1 team. Despite losing at home to the Bison last week, Rawlins moves up to #2, mostly because #3 Lander lost last week at home vs. unranked Pinedale. Douglas and Newcastle switch spots at #4 and #5. The Dogies could take exception to that, because they beat the Bearcats a few weeks ago. They can't dwell on that much, because they visit Buffalo on Saturday.

2A and 1A teams are in the last week of the regular season. The top 4 in 2A are unchanged again. It's Pine Bluffs on top, followed by Wyoming Indian, Big Horn and Wright. The Rams and the Panthers battle each other for the second time this week. We said the #5 ranking was like musical chairs last week. This time Rocky Mountain is back in and Glenrock in out.

1A is still dominated by the southwest, and there's a little unfinished business to deal with this week. Encampment is back on top of the rankings after 2 road wins last week in the SW. They visit #5 Saratoga on Thursday. Upton moves up to #2 as a result of last week's results. The Bobcats only have 1 loss on the season, but haven't had many chances to prove themselves, as a result of playing in the East. Farson-Eden drops from #1 to #3 after their home loss to the Tigers. They have a big game Friday at home vs. #4 Cokeville. The Pronghorns fell in 3 OT's a few weeks ago, and get another chance in their home finale.
