Trustees for the University of Wyoming are considering raising standards for guaranteed admission to the University of Wyoming. UW is the state's only four year public university and although changes to the standards may occur it does not mean students who don't meet the standards and are wanting to attend UW will not be accepted.

To ensure admission into the University of Wyoming a student currently must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. If a student does not meet the 3.0 requirement another way to be granted admission is to have a 2.75 GPA  with an ACT minimum score of 20.

Starting the fall of 2013, if the proposal passes it would increase the current standard to a 3.0 GPA and ACT minimum score of 21. To match with the Hathaway Success Curriculum changes will also be made to high school course requirements. According to the Casper Star Tribune, students who earn a minimum GPA of 2.25 and an ACT score of at least 20 will still be admitted and offered extra help.
