The Laramie Plainsmen dropped their third straight game, as they were blasted on the road by the 3rd-ranked Sheridan Broncs, 49-to-6, Friday night. Sheridan scored on the first play from scrimmage and rolled from there. Running back Daniel Sessions 67-yard touchdown reception on a bubble screen for the Broncs set the stage in a long night for LHS.

Sheridan (5-2) scored on their first 6 possessions and defeated Laramie for the 7th straight meeting in a blizzard at Homer Scott Field. Sessions accounted for 6 touchdowns, four rushing and two receiving. He ended up with 122 yards rushing on only 5 carries and 93 yards receiving on 3 catches. Quarterback Kevin Bakkehaug added the other t-d on a 5-yard run late in the first half.

The Broncs racked up 438 yards of total offense on only 36 plays, as they averaged 12.2 yards per play. They had 293 yards on the ground and 145 through the air. They never punted and took advantage of two Laramie turnovers. Sheridan's defense held Laramie to only 132 total yards, 76 of which came on their only scoring drive at the end of the game.

Sessions added scoring runs of 46 and 3 yards in the first quarter for a 21-0 lead. After a 9-yard shovel pass from Bakkehaug to Sessions put Sheridan ahead 28-0, Sessions ran over, around and through the Plainsmen defense for a 67-yard t-d and a 35-0 lead with 8:16 left in the first half.

Bakkehaug's touchdown run on a broken play made it 42-0 at half. Then Sessions 6th score of the game came from 2 yards out on the ground on Sheridan's first possession of the 2nd half. The 49-0 lead prompted a running clock for the rest of the game.

Laramie (1-6) finally got on the board on the final play of the game. Grant Holmstrom hooked up with Tyler Loose on a 32-yard screen pass, that Loose took the distance for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion failed.

There were about 4 inches of snow on the field at the conclusion of the game.

The Plainsmen will finish the season with their final two games at Deti Stadium. Laramie welcomes the top-ranked Natrona County Mustangs for homecoming this Friday night. Kick-off is set for 7 pm.
