Rising country music star Sam Riggs is playing tonight at the Cowboy Saloon on Second Street in Laramie.  Doors open at 9 p.m.  Pre-sale tickets are $10 each, and admission at the door is $15.

Riggs formed his band Sam Riggs and the Night People in Austin, Texas.  He began as an opening act in major venues across the Midwest and became a headliner seemingly overnight.  He has released music videos of extraordinary quality, including “When the Lights Go Out,” which was rated number two on the list of “Top 5 Music Videos of 2013.”

His full-length debut album Outrun the Sun, was released in October of 2013, and featured the songs “Long Shot,” “The Change,” and “Collide,” which was featured on the ABC hit drama Nashville.  His upcoming album Breathless is due out in early 2016.  Riggs recently released a solo performance video of “Second Hand Smoke.”

Riggs has sold 30,000 digital singles and 10,000 full albums to date.  Riggs was named “2014 Artist of the Year” by Texas Music Pickers, and the full band won Study Break Magazine’s “Best Bands of 2014.”

September has seen Riggs play nine concerts in Texas.  Tonight he’s coming in from Colorado Springs, where he played at the Black Sheep last night.  After Laramie, he is headed to Montana for a couple of days for gigs in Billings and Belgrade.
