What some call the third season of basketball is upon us.  The post-season is here.  The 4th-ranked Laramie Lady Plainsmen and 5th-ranked Laramie Plainsmen take part in the 4A East Regional basketball tournament in Sheridan today through Saturday.

The biggest game of the season is what the Lady Plainsmen face tonight.  It's a do or die game in the first round of the 4A East Regional tournament.  Laramie needs a win or their season comes to an end.  If they come away victorious, then they will move on to the 4A State Tournament in Casper next week and continue with two more games at the regional tournament.

The Lady Plainsmen (17-5, 6-4) take on the Casper Kelly Walsh Lady Trojans (4-20, 0-10) tonight at 7 pm at Sheridan (WY) High School.

Laramie beat the Kelly Walsh girls twice in the regular season by 30 and 38 points respectively.  The last game was just three days ago in Laramie after a postponement.

You can listen to the game on KOWB radio (AM 1290) or via our live stream at www.network1sports.com/station.kowb.  David Settle and VerDon Hoopes will call the action with coverage beginning at 6:15 pm.

As for the Plainsmen (13-10, 8-2), they've already earned an automatic bid to the state tournament next week.  With that, they receive a first round bye at the regional tournament and don't play until Friday at 5:30 pm against the winner of the Sheridan-Kelly Walsh game today.

You can follow all the action of both Laramie teams all weekend on KOWB and on-line with our stream coverage.
