No Big Changes in the Latest Volleyball Rankings From WyoPreps
The fifth edition of the WyoPreps Coaches and Media Volleyball Poll has a change in each class this week.
There are no new teams at the top, but some shuffling and shifting, and two new teams to the rankings.
The lone undefeated team in the state, Laramie, remains at No. 1 in Class 4A. The Lady Plainsmen received all but one first-place vote. Thunder Basin stays second, while Cheyenne East rises a spot to third, which pushes Kelly Walsh down to No. 4. Rock Springs makes its debut in this year’s poll as the new team in fifth.
Pinedale holds the top spot again in 3A. The Wranglers earned 10 of the 11 first-place votes. Lyman jumps up three positions to No. 2. Mountain View drops one spot to third. Douglas holds in fourth, while Rawlins falls to fifth.
Sundance is a unanimous pick for No. 1 in Class 2A. The Bulldogs received all eight first-place votes. Riverside rises to second by three points in the balloting over Moorcroft, as the Wolves fall to third. Tongue River and Big Horn hold steady in fourth and fifth.
In 1A, Kaycee holds the top spot by a slim three-point margin over Cokeville. Both teams received six first-place votes. The Panthers move from fourth up to second. H.E.M. is alone at No. 3, while Meeteetse is at four. Southeast is new to the poll in fifth.
For the rest of week 7, there are four matches between ranked teams. Three of those are in Class 2A. On Thursday, top-ranked Sundance hosts No. 3 Moorcroft. Friday will have fifth-rated Big Horn travels to Moorcroft to face the Wolves. Then, on Saturday, in 3A, No. 5 Rawlins goes to fourth-ranked Douglas. Finally, it a Sheridan County rivalry, fourth-rated Tongue River goes to No. 5 Big Horn.
