There is a change in four of the five classifications within the latest WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Football Poll unveiled on Wednesday.

It features a new No. 1 in Class 3A, a breakup of the top-5 in 4A, and three new teams to the rankings.

Class 1A-6 man has the most change with two teams making their debut in the poll this season. Meeteetse and Dubois enter the top-5. Farson-Eden remains No. 1 with 10 of the 11 first-place votes. Kaycee is now in second, as the Buckaroos move up one position. Meeteetse received the other first-place vote. The Longhorns jump into the poll for the first time this year and are tied for third with Encampment. The Tigers slide one spot. The Rams round out the rankings with their debut at No. 5. That pushed Burlington and Little Snake River out. Both received votes, as did Guernsey-Sunrise.

Jackson has reclaimed the No. 1 ranking in Class 3A. The Broncs earned 14 first-place votes and move back to the spot they held for one week earlier this year. Cody is up one position to second. After a win over their rival, the Broncs tallied nine first-place votes. Powell, who spent the past two weeks in first, falls to No. 3. Star Valley holds in fourth, but the Braves are only three points in front of No. 5 Douglas. Two more teams picked up votes this week.

In 2A, Mountain View holds the top spot. The Buffalos have been in that position for all but one week this season. A pair of teams jump up two spots this week after wins over top-5 opponents last Friday. Torrington is the new No. 2. They are followed by the Big Piney Punchers in third. Upton-Sundance and Lyman, the two teams that lost to Torrington and Big Piney, respectively, fall to fourth and fifth. Three more schools received votes this week.

Class 4A has a new entrant into their top-5 and it’s in the fifth position. Rock Springs’ first win in Casper over Natrona in 19 years, pushed the Tigers into that spot. It’s the first time this year that the five teams in the poll weren’t the same schools going back to the preseason rankings. Cheyenne Central remains and is the only unanimous No. 1 in this week’s poll. Thunder Basin holds in second, while Cheyenne East moves up to third. The Thunderbirds trade spots with Sheridan, who drops to fourth. Two other teams tallied votes for the top-5.

The only class with no changes this week is 1A-9 man. Southeast is No. 1 with 10 of the 14 first-place ballots. Rocky Mountain holds a small margin for second over Lusk, who remains third. Shoshoni is a solid No. 4, while Lingle-Fort Laramie stays in fifth despite a loss last week. Four other schools picked up a vote.

There are three games with ranked teams going head-to-head this week. Two of those are in 6 man football. The big game will see No. 1 Farson-Eden travel to #2 Kaycee. The co-No. 3 teams, Meeteetse and Encampment square off Saturday in Carbon County. The other ranked match-up is in Class 3A, where fourth-ranked Star Valley goes to No. 3 Powell.
