Both Laramie High School soccer teams were 1-1 in 4A East Conference action last weekend against Gillette and Sheridan.

Laramie Lady Plainsmen

The second-ranked Lady Plainsmen lost a tough 1-0 overtime game to Gillette at the University of Wyoming’s Indoor Practice Facility Friday night. The match was moved indoors because of the weather. The Camels scored in the 91st minute on a goal by DeLaney Hallcroft.

Laramie bounced back Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Sheridan. Allison McElwee scored twice and Lexi Pulley added the final goal on a penalty kick in the victory.

The Lady Plainsmen are now 8-2 overall and 5-1-0-1 in conference play. The last number in their league record refers to an overtime loss, which LHS gets one point for.

Laramie Plainsmen

Third-ranked Laramie got a measure of revenge with a comeback 3-1 victory at No. 2 Gillette Friday night. The Camels led 1-0 at half. Alexis Eleuterio tied it early in the second half before Blake Moore scored twice to put the match away.

The momentum didn’t last long, as the Broncos topped the Plainsmen 2-0 in Sheridan Saturday. Both goals came in the first half.

The Laramie boys are 8-2-1 on the season and 4-2-1 in conference matches.
