The Laramie High School Volleyball team will live to play another day after defeating Rock Springs in an elimination match at the 2012 Wyoming State Volleyball Championships 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 on Friday.

The Lady Plainsmen earned the win on a team effort, with 9 different players recording kills and five earning aces. Madison Legerski led the team with 9 kills and 13 digs while Jamie Rhodine put up 28 assists.

Senior Emily Pearson left the match in the second set after injuring her left knee. She started the third set, but only lasted a few points. Head coach Trisha Witkop said Pearson's knee was sore and they didn't want to risk further injury.  Pearson's status is day-to-day. Megan Dooley filled in for Pearson at the outside hitter position, recording 20 digs and 2 kills.
