The Wyoming Supreme Court has ruled that a lower court order prohibiting anti-abortion protesters from appearing at the Jackson town square last year was unconstitutional.

In a 3-2 decision released Tuesday Apil 10th, the Wyoming Supreme Court ruled the temporary restraining order issued by district judge Tom Day violated the first amendment rights of members of a group called Operation Save America.

The protesters had shown graphic photos of aborted fetuses around Jackson last May, to protest that a local doctor performs abortions.

The town secured the court order after city police said they feared violence if the protesters came together on the town square with about two-hundred boy scouts and their families who were gathering for an elk antler auction.

The protesters intend to be back in Jackson next month.
