Only one of the five classes stays the same in the Week 6 edition of the WyoPreps Coaches and Media Poll.

There is a new No. 1 in Class 1A-9 man, while Class 1A 6-man doesn’t have a tie. For the first time this season, there are no new teams in the poll.

The top two teams trade spots in 9-Man. Pine Bluffs’ win at home by nine over Shoshoni last week puts the Hornets into the No. 1 ranking.  They received 12 of the 14 first-place votes. The Wranglers drop only one spot to second. Lusk, Wind River, and Rocky Mountain remained third, fourth, and fifth.

Instead of a tie like last week, Class 1A-6 man features a unanimous pick for No. 1 in the Little Snake River Rattlers. They earned all ten first-place votes. The Encampment Tigers climb one position to second after their victory at Meeteetse last week. The Longhorns fall to third. Hulett rises to No. 4, while Farson-Eden is fifth.

In 2A, one loss last Friday night shifts the top five. Lyman is first with 14 of the 16 first-place votes. The Eagles have won 13 consecutive games. Torrington, Lovell, and Cokeville all move up one position. Last Friday’s loss by Wheatland sees the Bulldogs drop three spots to fifth.

Class 3A has one small change with two schools swapping spots. Cody is a near-unanimous choice for the top spot. The Broncs earned 16 of the 17 first-place votes. Jackson follows in second for the second straight week. Star Valley’s win last Friday helps the Braves climb to third. Powell drops for the second straight poll, down to No. 4. Douglas holds onto the fifth spot.

The one classification without a change is Class 4A. Rock Springs stays at No. 1 with 14 of the 18 first-place votes. Sheridan remains in second, followed by Cheyenne East, Thunder Basin, and Natrona County in three, four, and five. The margin between the Thunderbirds and the Bolts narrowed to three points in the voting.
