Rounds of 7-under par and 5-under helped former Colorado State golfer and now pro Jimmy Makloski win the Laramie Open Golf Tournament Sunday.

Makloski earned $10,000 for first place. His 12-under par total of 130 at Jacoby Golf Course was three shots clear of the field. Former University of Colorado golfer Derek Tolan took second at 9-under par, while CU Assistant Golf Coach Pat Grady finished third at 8-under.

In his first round, Makloski had an eagle on the par-5, 17th hole, plus six birdies and one bogey. His second round Sunday featured an eagle on the par-5, 9th hole, and three more birdies.

JT Timmons and Kane Webber rounded out the top five at 6-under par and 5-under par, respectively. A total of 13 players finished under par for the two-day Laramie Open. There were 48 players in the Professional Tundra Flight.

As for the Championship Flight, Wyoming Cowboy junior golfer Dan Starzinski shot a 6-under, 136 and won the division. In the Laramie Open Amateurs, Rolf Peterson fired a 2-over par, 144 and captured Flight One. The Second Flight was won by Paul Sanchez at 19-over par.

Jacoby Golf Course will host a U.S. Amateur Qualifier on Tuesday, July 10.
