Thanks to a new course record on Sunday, Nick Mason of Parker, CO won the Laramie Open presented by Toyota of Laramie at Jacoby Golf Course.

Mason won by four shots with a three-round total of 197 or 16-under par. He won $15,000 for his efforts. Mason’s final round 61 (-10) set a new course record at Jacoby. The previous record was 9-under par, 62, which was held by four individuals. Mason recorded eight birdies and an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole during the final 18 holes. He shot 64 and 72 in the first two rounds.

Homestead, FL golfer Jhared Hack finished in second place. He shot a 12-under par total of 201 for the weekend. Hack took home $7,500. Defending champion Austin Jordan came in third at 11-under par. He won $4,125.

The Championship Amateur Division was won by Kirby Coe-Kirkham, a junior on the University of Wyoming men's golf team. He posted a four-stroke victory with a three-round total of 209 or four-under-par. University of Utah golfer Jordan Costello placed second with an even-par total of 213. He’s from Pinedale and competed for the Wranglers during his prep career. Costello won the Class 3A state championship in 2014 and 2015. UW junior Tyler Severin took third-place. He fired a 217 total or 4-over par.

There were also four flights in the Amateur Division that were open to public entries.

Flight 1 was captured by Trevor Pilgrim. He won $500 with a five-shot victory. Pilgrim finished at 4-over par, 146. Flight 2 was won by Dave Perdue with a 6-under par total of 136. He also won $500. Rod Tyson took Flight 3 with a 4-under par, 138. Tyson won by a stroke and got $500. Flight 4 featured a tie for first-place between Paul Woodward and Jonathon Land. They both finished at even-par with a 142 total. Their margin of victory was five shots. Both earned $400 paydays.

The Laramie Open presented by Toyota of Laramie took place July 3-5, 2020 for the professionals and championship amateur division. The four flights in the amateur division were contested on Friday and Saturday.
