It was a tough weekend for the Laramie Plainsmen at the Wyoming State Wrestling Championships in Casper last weekend.

Senior Zech Aguilar was the only placer the Plainsmen had. He lost a tough quarterfinal match in sudden death but bounced back to finish third at 195 pounds. Aguilar pinned his last four opponents. He wrapped up his final year at LHS with a 22-2 record.

Only two other Laramie wrestlers made it past the second round wrestlebacks. That was freshman Clancy Mummert at 106 pounds and junior Calvin Webb at 182.

The Plainsmen came in 10th place with 50 team points. Kelly Walsh won their first team title with 223 points. Green River took second and Cheyenne East was third.
