The Assistant Coaching staffs have been selected for the 2017 Shrine Bowl Game, according to John Cundall, Wyoming Shrine Bowl Director.

Head South Coach Will Gray, of Pine Bluffs High School, has selected Brian Anderson, also of Pine Bluffs; Pat Fackrell, Evanston; Corey Wheeler, Rawlins; Mitch Espeland, Pinedale and Marvin Applequist, Farson-‐Eden, to be his assistant coaches.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the Shrine Bowl,” said Espeland about his first experience with the game. “It will be an honor getting to work with these great coaches and players we have coached against and watched this year. It is all for a great cause.”

Head North Coach John Scott, of Tongue River High School, named Jason Gill, Gillette; Vic Wilkerson, Gillette; Pat Patterson, Riverton; Marty Wrage, Greybull; and Matt Jensen, Meeteetse, to his coaching staff.

“I was excited that Coach Scott offered me the opportunity to coach in the 2017 Shrine game. I’m looking forward to working with all the players and coaches from the North in the state of Wyoming,” said Gill, who will be returning for his second coaching stint.

These coaches will now begin selecting the 36 participants for their respective teams.

Players will be announced later this spring.

The 44th annual game will be held in Casper on June 10th at Natrona County High School.

The North has won 4 straight and is 7-1-1 in the last 9.
