One of the top swimmers on one of the top teams in Class 4A in Laramie junior Anna Roesler.

Roesler has the top time in three different events. She is the only swimmer in 4A to go under two minutes in the 200 freestyle race (1:59.93). The junior also has the fastest times in the 500 freestyle (5:25.50) and the 200 individual medley event (2:17.01). Roesler is currently second in the butterfly and third in the 100 freestyle.

In the video at the top of this story, Roesler visited with WyoPreps’ David Settle a couple of weeks back about how her junior season is going, some of her top events, her chief competitor in her events, Berkeley Christensen of Campbell County, plus what’s she’s working on, what Laramie’s prospects are for a fourth-straight title, and more.

Roesler took third place in the individual medley and was runner-up in the butterfly at last year’s state championships. She also swam on two winning relays.

Settle also talked with Laramie head coach Tom Hudson about how things are going for Laramie in their quest for a four-peat, adjustments to this COVID season, their main competition from Cheyenne Central, and he also spoke about Roesler’s season-to-date and her improvement, as well as another teammate, Katie McPherson.

Laramie heads to the 4A West-Central Conference Championship meet in Casper with Kelly Walsh and Natrona County on Friday and Saturday.

The Class 4A Swimming and Diving State Championships will be in Laramie on Nov. 5 and 6.
