The new WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Boys Basketball Rankings are very similar to last week’s poll.

There is only one team in the rankings and a little movement, but one class is exactly the same.

The top three remain the same in Class 4A boys. Cheyenne Central is one vote shy of being a unanimous choice for No. 1. Sheridan and Thunder Basin hold at second and third. Laramie moves up one spot to No. 4. Cheyenne East falls to fifth. All but Thunder Basin will be in action this weekend as part of the Taco John’s Invitational in Cheyenne and Laramie. The big match-up will be the second-ranked Broncs at No. 5 East on Friday night.

Lander continues to be the top pick in Class 3A, but the Tigers are not unanimous this week. Second-ranked Worland received a vote for first place. Wheatland holds at No. 3. The Bulldogs will face top-ranked Lander in Cheyenne at the Taco John’s Invitational on Thursday. Mountain View climbs up one position to fourth, while Powell is back in the top five at No. 5. The Panthers pushed the Buffalo Bison from the rankings. The poll closed before Powell lost to Class 2A No. 1 Rocky Mountain on Tuesday night.

Speaking of 2A, the Grizzlies are the lone unanimous choice for a top spot in this week’s poll. Rocky Mountain is number one for the third straight poll. Wyoming Indian holds in second. Southeast and Sundance have tied again for the second consecutive poll, but this week it is a tie for third. Pine Bluffs stays in the rankings but falls to No. 5.

Class 1A boys are the one division that is the same as the previous poll. Encampment is in the first position. The Tigers have been on top since the preseason rankings came out. They received eight first-place votes. The Upton Bobcats garnered a couple of first-place tallies and hold in second. Saratoga and St. Stephens remain in a tie for third. A big match-up has top-ranked Encampment at No. 3 Saratoga in a Platte River Valley battle on Thursday. Little Snake River, coming off a road win in Colorado last weekend, is still fifth.
