CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming farm is set to send China its first-ever shipments of organic millet and wheat from the United States. China will receive the first shipments this fall from Clint Jessen’s farm north of Pine Bluffs. Jessen says he expects to send a relatively small shipment — 20,000-30,000 bushels each of millet and wheat — to China.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The effort to build one of the world’s fastest supercomputers at Cheyenne has reached a milestone. The National Center for Atmospheric Research supercomputer going up just west of Cheyenne has received a major shipment of computers. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center is expected to help scientists across the country research weather events and climate.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Yellowstone Park Foundation has provided more than $200,000 in grants for animal research, energy efficiency and preservation projects. Each year, Yellowstone’s superintendent submits proposals to the Yellowstone Park Foundation for projects. One grant will be used for historic documentation and preservation in the Old Faithful Lower Hamilton Store, which was built in 1897

DENVER (AP) — Volunteers at a wolf sanctuary near a large wildfire burning in northern Colorado have removed 11 of the animals and hope the remaining 19 will take shelter. WOLF sanctuary spokeswoman Michelle Proulx tells Denver-based KUSA-TV says the wolves remaining in the sanctuary could take shelter in what are known as “fire dens” if the fire passes through. The fire is burning in a mountainous area about 15 miles west of Fort Collins.
