Congratulations to Brig. Gen. Gregory C. Porter as he will be the new Maj. Gen. of the Wyoming National Guard.

Brig. Gen. Gregory C. Porter is currently the director of the joint staff at the Joint Force Headquarters.  He will accept his new position at the Red Lion Hotel this evening March 28, 2019.

“I am humbled and honored by this opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve with that 1 percent of this nation who wears a combat uniform,” Porter tells County 17.

Porter will take over for current Maj. Gen. K. Luke Reiner.  Since Reiner is retiring after the ceremony he has appointed Gov. Mark Gordon to be in charge of the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

“This has been an amazing eight years marked by growth and change, I am proud to have served as Wyoming’s adjutant general,” Reiner said, in a press release. “I am confident the Wyoming Military Department will continue to make great strides under General Porter’s leadership.”
