Here we go! It’s the start of an unusual indoor track season for 2021. The first qualifying meets are on Friday and Saturday in Gillette at the Campbell County Recreation Center.

A reminder of a few of the changes.

Regular-season meets have a limit of 300 participants. Those will be broken down on a school-by-school basis for each meet.

There are no fans at any of the three regular-season meets.

Athletes will have only chances to qualify for the state championships at meets in Gillette and Casper. Indoor Track athletes can compete at other meets but their marks to qualify for state must come from one of the meets in Gillette or in Casper.

Only the top eight in running events and relays and the top nine in field events will qualify to compete at the state championships.

The state meet is divided by sex over two different Saturdays. The boys’ state championship is on Feb. 27. The girl’s state meet will be on March 6.
