There's little change in the new coaches/media rankings, as teams conclude quadrant business, and get ready for the upcoming regional tournaments.

Kelly Walsh appears to be the heavy favorite in 4A as they are once again the unanimous #1. It was a close vote for #2 and #3, and it's Thunder Basin that moves ahead of Star Valley this week. For both the Lady Bolts and Lady Braves, more than half of their losses are against out of state opponents. #4 Laramie will entertain #5 Cheyenne Central on Friday, to try to secure the southeast #1 seed.

Only 1 thing stands in between unanimous #1 Lyman and an undefeated regular season. That thing is a home game vs. co-#3 and arch-rival Mountain View on Friday night. The Lady Buffs share the ranking with Douglas, who should have an interesting game at home Saturday vs. #4 4A Laramie. Elsewhere, #2 Rawlins and #5 Powell will conclude their quadrant business, in preparation for the post-season.

There was a little movement in the new 2A rankings. Wright remains #1, but it's Southeast that's now up to #2, after their big road win last week, against former #2, now #3 Pine Bluffs. Greybull and Glenrock hold steady at #4 and #5. The Lady Herders visit the Lady Cyclones this weekend.

Looking at the 1A rankings, it has looked like Cokeville and everyone else since the rankings started. The Lady Panthers have 2 road trips this week. They visit #3 3A Mountain View, and then go to #3 Farson-Eden on Saturday. #2 Saratoga will be in the post-season this year, after missing out on the past 2. Arvada-Clearmont hangs onto the #4 spot after losing vs. unranked Kaycee last week. That game allowed the Lady Bucs to secure the Northeast #1 seed for the regional tournament. Lingle-Ft. Laramie and Meeteetse have to share the #5 ranking this week.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
